Meet Chelsey

FOUNDER OF SPEAKEASY

Chelsey  is a highly experienced yoga teacher with 15 years of guiding students toward strength, flexibility, and mindful movement. With a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and multiple 500-hour certifications, Chelsey blends a deep understanding of anatomy with intuitive, adaptable teaching.

Skilled in a wide range of styles—from the  dynamic flow of Vinyasa to the deep release of Yin Yoga,  the nurturing support of Restorative, and the disciplined intensity of Hot 26—Chelsey crafts classes that are both purposeful and accessible. Beyond studio sessions, she offers private yoga for individuals and groups, tailoring practices to personal goals, whether for recovery, performance, or mindful movement.

A passionate advocate for transformative experiences, Chelsey also leads international Yoga + Adventure Retreats, combining immersive practice with exploration in breathtaking locations. These retreats are designed to rejuvenate the body, expand awareness, and foster connection—both on and off the mat.

When not teaching, you can find Chelsey hanging out with her dog Miss Jade, exploring the vibrant culture and hidden gems of New Orleans, or working as an Ultrasound Technician at a local hospital—where she continues to merge her love of anatomy with compassionate care.

Meet Kathleen

Hailing from the greater Washington D.C. area (Arlington, Virginia to be exact), Kathleen moved to New Orleans in late 2021. After completing her 200 hour yoga teacher training in December 2017 - with no intention of teaching - she began teaching in January 2018 and hasn’t stopped since.

The path of yoga led her to hang up my power suit (13 years in management consulting for the Federal government) in favor of a completely new way of living. Yoga teaches Kathleen to be present with breath and body; to find reverence for the little things; to explore discipline and devotion as co-existing necessities of living; and to always try to start from right now, this moment.

She’s most inspired by sadhana (daily spiritual/physical practice), bhakti (devotion, heart-led path), pranayama + meditation (breathwork + sitting), and asana alignment (physical movement, postures). She believes you get out of it what you put into it (“it” being the practice), and in the great paradox that is the practice of yoga, we also practice non-attaching to the fruits of our labors. Kathleen’s teaching style: showing up as your full self is enough! She teaches weekly, in person classes throughout New Orleans. She also hosts yoga retreats around the world - everywhere from Pennsylvania to Indonesia!
